MisFest showcases female musicians in Oklahoma

Even today in the music scene, it is still a “thing” to have a female drummer or lead guitarist. It is still a “thing” to have a band comprised of all women. It is even a “thing” to see women be successful in the music industry in any capacity. This is not to say that there are no thriving female musicians or tour managers or sound engineers, but it brings up the question of why it is worth mentioning that someone is successful while also happening to be a woman. This line of thinking is exactly what inspired Amira Al-Jiboori and Casii Stephan to create MisFest.

Tahlequah sees second year of North by Northeastern Drama Festival

This is the second year for Tahlequah to have the North by Northeastern Drama Festival, two weeks filled with drama, film and dance created by NSU students and faculty. The North by Northeastern Festival is made up of three different events. The events include the New Works Play Festival, NSU International Film Festival and the Impressions Dance Company spring concert.

Study away opportunity allows students to attend Oregon Shakespeare Festival

NSU students have the opportunity to spend one week of their summer studying and learning at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The annual trip is scheduled for Aug. 2-9, during the fall intersession for 2017. Students who participate in the experience will travel to Ashland, Ore. and experience eight different plays performed by the theatre company.
