The NSU Department of Music presents performances for students and the community. For the spring semester the department has various performers who will have recitals for students such as the flute, piano and voice recitals. On Feb. 25 the Jazz Lab will present trumpet connoisseur David Amlung. 

United States Air Force quartet prepares to perform and inspire

Mission Winds, a clarinet quartet from the United States Air Force Band of the West, is traveling to NSU to perform for students and the community. The band is devoted to honoring all Airmen and supporting music education throughout the southern region of the U.S.

Fourth annual “Good Yule” concert scheduled for early December

The NSU Department of Music is preparing for its fourth annual “Good Yule” concert, which will accompany the seasonal Lights On at Seminary Hall event. The concert, also referred to as the Department of Music Holiday Spectacular, features NSU’s major ensembles, faculty and students performing classic holiday songs for the community.

Opera workshop to perform selections from “The Great American Songbook”

Performance after performance, week after week, the NSU Department of Music always has something happening within their program. It can be said NSU’s music program is one of the most intensive music programs in the state. Being a well rounded program, NSU offers a class called Opera Workshop, which teaches the performance of musical theatre, a favorite amongst performing arts students.
