NSU’s James Doyle claims MIAA Athlete of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northeastern State men's soccer repeated for Athlete of the Week honors with sophomore defender James Doyle claiming the MIAA award on Tuesday. 

Doyle had Northeastern State's second and game-winning goal in their improbable 4-3 comeback on Saturday, September 8 against Oklahoma Christian. He scored the RiverHawks second goal during a 1:32-minute span where the team had three goals, which were second quickest in NCAA Division II history for three consecutive goals. 

Doyle scored the game-winner in the 86th minute on a penalty kick to move No. 8 NSU to 4-0.  Doyle, a defender played full time in both of the NSU contests during the week.

The RiverHawks' Joe Garcia took the league's top weekly honor in the MIAA's last release.
