Four RiverHawks Selected as All-Central Region by United Soccer Coaches


KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northeastern State pulled in four United Soccer Coaches Men's All-Central Region First Team selections on Tuesday.

Joe Garcia headlined for the RiverHawks with his seventh career First Team All-Region honor, after leading the team with 13 goals in the first 12 games of the season.

Trevor Reed took his sixth career First Team award, finishing second in points (8 goals, 6 assists), with three game winners this year.

James Doyle is a repeat First Team honoree on the defensive end with nine goals and two assists.  The sophomore from Merseyside, England has been selected twice by both the coaches and the region's sports information directors.

Ben Watson picked up his second career All-Region honor, leading the RiverHawks with 11 assists, and was a member of a NSU back line that held eight shutouts.  Watson was also named All-Region earlier this fall by the media.

Northeastern State finished the season in the NCAA Round of 16 and with a 15-3-1 overall record.
