RiverHawks basketball closes out regular season with four home games

The magic number is 12.

That is the number the RiverHawks basketball teams are looking for as they head into the home stretch of the season. Twelfth is the place both teams must finish in the MIAA conference standings to earn a spot in the postseason for the MIAA conference tournament.

Men’s basketball and baseball teams travel out of state over the weekend

The NSU men’s basketball and baseball teams played over the weekend. The basketball team traveled to Warrensburg, Mo. to play the Central Missouri University Mules for the RiverHawks’ 22nd game of the season. The baseball team traveled to Austin, Texas for their season opener against the St. Edward’s University Hilltoppers. 

RiverHawks host Fort Hays State in MIAA play

Northeastern State is 2-9 when facing Fort Hays State with their two wins coming at home.  The RiverHawks have lost eight straight to the Tigers after winning two of the first three meetings.  Both teams have faced each other in the MIAA Tournament twice (2013, 2015).

NSU men gears for Fort Hays State Thursday

Northeastern State trails the overall series 7-5 to Fort Hays State and in MIAA play at home, the RiverHawks hold onto a slight 3-2 edge on the Tigers.  NSU beat Fort Hays State 66-60 in their last meeting at the NSU Event Center and the win propelled the RiverHawks into the MIAA Postseason Tournament.
