NSU men fall to seventh at MIAA Golf Championship

SPRING HILL, Mo. – Northeastern State improved their score but still fell down three spots to seventh on Tuesday at the MIAA Men's Golf Championships.

The RiverHawks carded a 297 and has a two-day total at 595 at the Sycamore Ridge Golf Club.

All five players for NSU scored sub-77 scores with Hunter Pennington fielding an even 72 in the second round. 

Bryce Newton dropped from the top of the leader board to an 11th place tie with a 146 (70-76).  Casey Paul is a shot back of Newton (74-73) tied for 15th and Pennington carded a 149 which landed him tied for 23rd overall.

Ty Shelnutt shot a 77 for the second day in a row and is tied for 41st.  Navid Majidi made a nine stroke improvement with a 76 and is tied for 52nd overall with a 161.

Lindenwood surged to the top of the leader board thanks to a 277 on Tuesday and holds a 12 shot lead over Central Missouri.  The Lions shot a 574 in two days with Yente Van Doren as the medalist leader with a 140 (74-66).

Wednesday's final round starts at 9:20 a.m. for the RiverHawks where they will start play on the tenth pin.
