The NSU men’s soccer team had a subpar 2016 season compared to recent years. The RiverHawks went 7-9-1 last year with a 3-5 record in MIAA. They struggled to find their feet and had an inexperienced team. The RiverHawks will return nearly the same team with another year’s experience in hand. NSU will rely on the experience they gained through last season to prepare them for the 2017 season.

NSU women's soccer kicked off this preseason with a win over Rose State last week. This 7-1 win came after the team's long week of preseason training. Women’s soccer, like most sports around NSU’s campus, starts training weeks before school begins. Athletes have shorter summers but are putting in more hours to become the best versions of themselves to better the team.
