NSU men’s soccer team sets school records

After a rocky start, the NSU men’s soccer team picked it up and made it to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament. Last time the team made it to nationals in 2012. It was a good accomplishment this year to be back at the highest level at the NCAA DII level.

Women’s soccer ends season by making history

The RiverHawks women’s soccer season came to a bitter end after a loss to Washburn in the MIAA postseason tournament. The women fell to the Ichabods 1-0 in a tight affair at Deloach Field. In the 51st minute of the game, the Ichabods scored to put the advantage in their hands. The RiverHawks were not able to find their offensive prowess that had been so potent throughout the season to make a comeback against Washburn.

NSU men’s soccer wins nine straight

NSU men’s soccer has bounced back from an 0-3 start to a 12-4 record overall and a 5-1 record in the MIAA. The RiverHawks have won nine straight games going into their final two conference games of the season. If they win these final two games, they will have a share of the MIAA championship with Fort Hays State. The RiverHawks split the home and away games with the Tigers in MIAA conference play.

NSU women’s soccer continues strong start

The NSU women’s soccer program is in familiar territory after their 10-0 start to the season. The RiverHawks started the season strong winning 10 straight, but they hiccupped after their first loss. They are now 11-2 overall and 5-2 in the MIAA after losses to the No. 2 ranked Central Missouri and an unranked Missouri Western State (12-2). They had the same start to last season as they went 10-0 to start the season and lost to both Central Missouri and Missouri Western State to fall to 11-2.
