The RiverHawks (12-11) looks to get back on track with upcoming matchups against Lincoln University on March 12 and Lindenwood University on March 13.  NSU recently faced Missouri Western State University on March 4 and Northwest Missouri State University on March 5 on the road.  The RiverHawks went on to lose both doubleheader contests, with victories this weekend NSU can get back on track.

The first matchup for NSU will be Lincoln University, the Blue Tigers come into the matchup with the RiverHawks with a record of 2-17, but they were able to pick up a MIAA conference win against Emporia State 13-12 on March 5.  The second matchup will be against Lindenwood University, the Lions enter the matchup 5-15 on the year and 2-2 in MIAA conference play.

On paper both Lincoln and Lindenwood only have 7 wins combined, but the RiverHawks know they have a tough task ahead facing back to back doubleheaders in the matter of two days.

“This is a weekend we really have to focus on us,” said Clay Davis, head coach. “We have to go out execute, both pitching and hitting and it doesn’t matter who we’re playing in our conference we have to go take care of ourselves.”

Losing four straight games is tough for any team, but the RiverHawks look to execute their game plan to get the much needed victories and better positioning in the conference.

“We just have to play sound softball, we can’t beat ourselves,” said Davis. “We have to put ourselves in good situations and keep positive in our dugout we should have a pretty successful weekend.”

The RiverHawks first matchup against Lincoln is at 2 p.m. on March 12 at RiverHawks Park in Tahlequah.
