NSU has a cheer squad and a pom squad. Cheer contains of stunting, jumping, tumbling, and dancing. Pom is dancing with a complete different genre and technique background. When they perform together at any event, they are the Spirit Squad.

Athlete regimen incorporates strength and conditioning training

Strength and conditioning programs are mandatory for all student-athletes at NSU. It is an integral part of an athlete’s training regimen.  The programs exist to help increase strength, speed and conditioning levels in athletes. It plays an essential part in athletes’ success.

NSU men’s soccer wins nine straight

NSU men’s soccer has bounced back from an 0-3 start to a 12-4 record overall and a 5-1 record in the MIAA. The RiverHawks have won nine straight games going into their final two conference games of the season. If they win these final two games, they will have a share of the MIAA championship with Fort Hays State. The RiverHawks split the home and away games with the Tigers in MIAA conference play.

RiverHawks football gets first win in double overtime thriller

The RiverHawks were in all too familiar territory when they were trailing late in the fourth quarter. They were down by seven until Gary McKnight Jr., senior wide receiver from Lawton, scored with 1:36 left in the fourth quarter to tie the game. NSU went on to beat Missouri Southern State in double overtime on a McKnight 23-yard touchdown grab, for the RiverHawks first win of the season.
