In Kansas City at the Swope Memorial Golf Course, the NSU women’s golf team looked to defend their MIAA conference title from a year ago. It was evident from the first tee off NSU came ready to play. The RiverHawks secured an early lead and never looked back.

NSU analyzes move to the MIAA

NSU announced the move for athletics from the Lone Star Conference to the MIAA Conference in 2010. The official move was made in 2012 with rival in-state school University of Central Oklahoma also making the jump to the MIAA with NSU.

NSU tabs Downey as men’s basketball head coach

NSU has officially hired Mark Downey to be the next head basketball coach for the RiverHawk men’s basketball program. Downey has an impressive resume coming from a Division I assistant coaching position at Fort Wayne (NCAA DI). NSU Athletic Director Tony Duckworth was stoked to get a coach the caliber of Downey to lead the RiverHawks.

NSU baseball heats up

The RiverHawk baseball program is over the halfway point in their 2017 season. NSU is starting to turn up the heat in the middle of the MIAA conference schedule. The RiverHawks appear to be on the way to a postseason birth in the MIAA conference tournament with an overall record of 17-12, 11-7 in conference play.
