Rebuilding a football program from the ground up takes time.  NSU hired Rob Robinson as the head football coach of the RiverHawks in the offseason of 2013. The transformation of the RiverHawks’ program began under Robinson in 2014 with a winless season.

Over the last 17 years, as the head coach of the women’s program at NSU, Randy Gipson has won more games than any other coach before him in program history. Recently, the RiverHawks have undergone a major change, switching conferences to the MIAA.

The men’s basketball program at NSU saw a changing of the guard three seasons ago with long time head coach Larry Gipson retiring. NSU athletic director Tony Duckworth found Jason Tinsley out of Louisiana to tab as the next head coach to follow Gipson.

NSU inks 27 on national signing day

National signing day is an eventful day across the country with players inking their name with the college they will be attending and playing for over the next four seasons. NSU signed 27 football players from six different states in the region: Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Louisiana and Tennessee.
