The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is dedicated to promoting the missions of NSU and the Division of Student Affairs. Their goal is to dedicate resources to sustaining an environment that welcomes and includes all students, staff and faculty in the community. They promote a culture of change that will actively engage the community in identifying issues faced by minority populations while encouraging active participation.

Their vision is to foster a broad environment that promotes and nurtures diversity. Their goal is to promote an environment where faculty, staff and students are welcomed. The organization’s main focus is recruitment and retention of faculty, staff and students from historically excluded groups, along with promoting a welcoming inclusive campus climate and engaging in educational outreach and community building.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion coordinates many programs throughout the academic school year. The office advises the Association of Black Collegians, Stonewall Equality Alliance LGBT group and Safe Zone Training. They assist many areas on campus to provide resources for Indigenous Peoples Day, Diwali, Holi, Woman's History Month, Black History Month and many more.

“My goal as coordinator for Diversity and Inclusion is simple,” said Dejon Jordan, Diversity and Inclusion coordinator. “I want to highlight the diversity of the student body and celebrate what makes us Northeastern State University.”

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion wants to bring many people together. The organization supports people for who they are and what they believe in. The office is located in the basement of the UC on the Tahlequah campus.
