Impressions Dance Company performs a recital for students every semester. IDC is the premier dance company of NSU and is open to all students. The company this semester boasts over 30 members, one of the largest groups since the company’s revamp. Members have about nine weeks to learn dances to perform for their recital.

“Impressions Dance Company provides a positive environment that allows you to be yourself,” said Matthew Lee, IDC student leadership team member. “Self-confidence develops as young people overcome challenges to master new goals, learning to apply themselves and accomplish any task put before them. Impressions is important to me, because it creates thinking skills through dance, as well as learning the value of discipline, commitment and work ethic. It’s a great stepping stone for anyone who wants to become a better dancer, whether you’re experienced or inexperienced.”

Auditions for the company are within the first few weeks of each semester. The recital has two showings and is free for students with their NSU ID. The showings are the week of Dec. 4 at the NSU Playhouse.
