Giving back is something many student organizations do. Each has their own cause they are dedicated to. Panhellenic just conducted their second fundraiser for their newly adopted philanthropy, Circle of Sisterhood.

Circle of Sisterhood is a philanthropy Panhellenic councils across the U.S. have adopted. Circle of Sisterhood strives to make education possible for women across the world where access to education is limited. Two-thirds of all illiterate adults in the world are female. NSU’s Panhellenic organization paired with RiverHawk Nutrition to do their part Thursday.

Lauren Cole, Panhellenic vice president of academics, and Kasady Marshall, Panhellenic treasurer and secretary, worked diligently behind the counter during the event to aid RiverHawk Nutrition with their organization’s fundraiser for Circle of Sisterhood. They were trained to make teas and shakes.

“We received 10 percent of the total sales at RiverHawk Nutrition,” said Ashtyn Taylor, Panhellenic president. “RiverHawk nutrition had about $400 worth of sales so we got about $39 to put back toward our philanthropy.”

Panhellenic plans to conduct more events in the future to help with the education of women and girls in impoverished countries.
