NSU Art Gallery senior exhibition concludes Friday

Graduating seniors majoring in fine art and art education are required to have an art exhibition    during their last semester in college. The students are given an option to name their show. However, this particular show does not have a name. Jessica Jobe and Vanessa Rogers, two graduating students majoring in art, are displaying work that has been completed while taking different art classes during college.  

Panhellenic Council advocates for Greek community

The Panhellenic Council is the governing board of Panhellenic-affiliated sororities at NSU, which includes Alpha Omicron Pi, Sigma Sigma Sigma and Delta Zeta. The NSU council is also a part of the larger National Panhellenic Council. Panhellenic acts as the liaison between the affiliated chapters and the university. As the council just elected new executive members, the plans for next semester have begun.

TKE in a Box supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

The members of Tau Kappa Epsilon have their TKE in a Box event each semester. TKE in a Box is a philanthropy event benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The members take turns living in a wooden box to represent struggle. The box is constructed by hand and is often decorated with lights, blankets and entertainment to make the week more bearable.

Kappa Phi is holding an event on campus that will involve all of the sorority and fraternities. The event is a singing bee where participants will have the opportunity to sing missing lyrics to a song in a fun and engaging competition. The sorority or fraternity that raises the most money before the event will be given an extra life during the competition.

Interfraternity Council starts work with a new slate

The Interfraternity Council presides over IFC-associated fraternities on campus. The council is responsible for keeping student and faculty relations with fraternities positive, planning educational and community events and promoting Greek life to students. With the new executive board slated and approved, IFC plans to make big changes in the upcoming semesters.
