Delta Zeta sorority gives back to the community

Dodgeball originated in Africa 200 years ago. The game built the strength of warriors and often ended in injury or the loss of life. Delta Zeta’s Delta Phi chapter intends to use dodgeball tp impact lives rather than take them. The chapter is having the first Delta Zeta Dodgeball tournament. The proceeds of the tournament are given to meet needs in the Tahlequah community.

NSU implements Greek standards of excellence committee

In recent years, Greek life has experienced many changes. The dismissal of Lambda Chi Alpha, the investigation of Phi Sigma Kappa that led to social probation and the national and university investigation of Tau Kappa Epsilon have left many questioning the future of Greek life on campus. In an attempt to highlight the positive impact that Greek life can have on a campus, Student Affairs and Student Engagement have created a Fraternity and Sorority Life Standards of Excellence Committee.

Order of Omega recognizes outstanding fraternity and sorority students

Fraternity and Sorority Life is recognizing accomplished fraternity men and sorority women with this year’s Order of Omega initiation. Order of Omega is an honors society that consists solely of students engaged in Greek life. Students who have displayed great leadership qualities and exceeded academic standards can apply for Order of Omega membership. Being accepted into the Order of Omega is considered one of the highest honors a member of Greek life can achieve.

Sigma Tau Gamma sparks interest across campus

The Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity is starting up the Zeta charter again to add a sixth fraternity back on campus. This gives the interfraternity council an even balance of fraternities on campus and add back a competitive edge. A group of men on campus decided that none of the chapters on campus were right for them and decided to start their own.

NSU Greek Life joins together to prevent hazing

NSU’s Greek organizations provide students with opportunities to occupy leadership roles, build strong connections and grow as individuals. As with anything else, however, there are negative aspects that need to be addressed. An issue that has historically plagued Greek organizations around the country is the act of hazing.
