During fall break, many students will go on short vacations or go home to visit their family. A group of students from the Baptist Collegiate Ministry will be doing something a little bit different. These students will be giving up part of their fall break to go on a leadership retreat at Tenkiller Baptist Assembly.

Speech pathology students attend national convention

Northeastern Student Speech Language Hearing Association is a student-led group in the speech pathology department. The group has 66 members, each of which have their own role in making the group function properly. The group’s goal is to help its members be prepared for each of their futures in speech-language pathology.

Office of International Programs throws Halloween party

Halloween is a big American tradition. Halloween is a time when magic is most potent, and spirits can make contact with the physical world. In Christian times, it became a celebration of the evening before All Saints’ Day. Immigrants from Scotland and Ireland brought the holiday to the United States.

Phi Sigma Kappa puts on event for Special Olympics

During the fall semester Phi Sigma Kappa invites the sororities on campus to come out and participate in their annual Mud on the Tires philanthropy event. The events this year consisted of dodgeball, tug-of-war, a relay race, a slip-n-slide and a mud pie eating contest, all of which were done is a large mud pit. In addition, there was also be a donation award presented to the sorority chapter who donated the most to the event.
