Students prepare for Martin Luther King Jr. day of service

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. played a substantial role in the civil rights movement. His lectures are said to have ignited modernization in today’s culture. During his lifetime, King was arrested 30 times for participation in civil rights activities. He preached on justice, empowerment, love and peace. At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. When notified of his selection, King announced that he would gift the prize money of $54,123 to the civil rights movement.                                            


Continuing Education presents pistol shooting and concealed carry course

The Continuing Education department is partnering with Dr. Thomas Salmon to bring a Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training certified Oklahoma concealed carry class and a National Rifle Association pistol shooting class to campus. Dr. Salmon is a certified NRA instructor and a range safety officer. The CLEET concealed to carry class consists of six hours in a classroom and approximately two to three hours of outdoor and real life training. The NRA pistol shooting class is an 8-hour course that includes training on basic pistol shooting, ammunition and pistol maintenance, safety and live-fire range exercises. Students receive considerably less expensive rates for both of these courses.


College of Optometry molds students for future in healthcare

NSU is leading the way in the field of optometry and strives for quality care for all patients in and around Oklahoma. NSU offers a Doctor of Optometry degree, which is based out of the Tahlequah campus, but students can work in the program from the Broken Arrow and Muskogee campuses as well.


Students plan to attend StuMo conference

Every year, StuMo takes NSU students to the StuMo conference, SMC. This conference gives students an opportunity to grow in their relationship with Christ alongside their peers and students from other colleges.
