As more international students come to NSU, various international organizations continue to grow and develop. These organizations offer opportunities for international students to become involved on campus, make NSU feel more like home and participate in various extracurricular activities. The international student soccer team is one of them.

Sassy Hawks promote health awareness with a love for dance

Sassy Hawks is a majorette style dance team at NSU. It was founded in spring 2011 by James Parker and Alyssa Wilkins and over the years the number of members has increased. The purpose of the team is to promote health awareness with a unique style of dancing. This semester, the Sassy Hawks consists of a group of women who share a love for dance and entertaining.

Youngdeer increases awareness of the Keetoowah way of life

Ahyoka Youngdeer, Tahlequah junior, has fulfilled various leadership roles over her college career. She was born and raised in northeastern Oklahoma, and graduated at the top of her class from Warner high school. Being heavily involved in high school, Ahyoka progressed her success through FCCLA, sports and various native leadership assemblies. As a child, Ahyoka grew up in a traditional Keetoowah / Cherokee native household, which shaped her into the leader and activist she is today.
