In 2012, Addison Williams, a student at NSU at the time, came up with the idea for the Last Lecture for a contest put on by the Traditions Council. The contest called for a tradition that would foster student involvement, promote a positive image of NSU and last for years to come.

Native American Paranormal Project plans trip to NSU’s Bacone House

The idea of ghosts being on NSU’s Tahlequah campus is nothing new. Seminary Hall building is usually the main focus for what people would refer to as paranormal activity. In 2014 the crew of the Native American Paranormal Project dedicated their time to Seminary Hall in hopes of documenting any activity that would be deemed ghostly. The NAPP is now planning to bring their crew back to Tahlequah to focus on the Bacone House.

Local artist Chip Collins opens for Randy Rogers

For the past years the Northeastern Activities Board has organized a large-scale concert at the NSU Event Center. Last year the board brought Waka Flocka. This year NAB is bringing Randy Rogers, a country artist who is well-known across the United States. This concert, tailored to the Tahlequah community, has given Bryan Harris, NAB concert chairman, the opportunity to reach out to local bands to potentially open for the concert.

NSU students anticipate the first ever Virtue conference

About five years ago in Pryor, Tyra Rains, the pastor’s wife from Your Place Church, had a conversation with a few young women who were struggling to believe in a happily ever after. After the conversation, Rains felt the need to teach women their value, explain the importance of character and express Jesus’ love for them. Shortly after this conversation, the first Virtue life group began.
