Computer science students attend supercomputer symposium

The practice of computer science includes taking futuristic ideas with computers and bringing them to life. This means supercomputing. Supercomputing involves computers with processing capabilities that far exceed the capabilities of regular computers. A few faculty members and students within the computer science major plan to visit the University of Oklahoma and attend the Oklahoma Supercomputing Symposium 2017.


Students and faculty attend APPLE Training Institute in Washington, D.C.

Select students have been invited to fly to Washington, D.C. to participate in the APPLE Training Institute. APPLE is to help promote student-athlete wellness and substance abuse prevention. The event is presented by the Gordie Center for Substance Abuse Prevention and the University of Virginia, and it is funded by the NCAA.


Tragedy strikes NSU

Tragedy struck the campus of NSU as five students were killed in a crash late last night. The accident occurred on Welling Bridge as the 2006 Chevrolet Colorado fell 35 feet from the bridge.


NAB raises awareness through Suicide Prevention Week

This week brings awareness to the seriousness of an issue that has become prevalent in today’s society. As social media, TV shows, and news channels broadcast tragic stories of suicide, it is becoming more important for individuals to be able to identify signs of suicide. September is suicide prevention month. The Northeastern Activities Board wanted to dedicate one week during this month to spread awareness on campus.
