Career Services is helping students save a buck by joining up with JCPenney to give discounts on professional clothing.

Dressing professional is needed for students during college and after college. Jobs are looking for men and women who dress professionally in the work place, but for some college students the price of professional clothing just does not fit in the budget. This is why JCPenney is offering to give students an extra 40-60 percent off clothing like J.Ferrar, Stafford, Liz Claiborne and more.

“We have done this for other schools in the past,” said Brandace Moore, general manager at Woodland Hills Mall JCPenney department store. “It seems to really benefit students and is a fun event for them to attend.”

The discount will only be given to current students at NSU on the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campuses. Also, discounts will not be available at all the JCPenney stores.

“There will be transportation from both the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campus,” said Sarah Tilly, career event specialist. “Students must register before the event to take part in the transportation.”

Students who do not have a ride or do not want to drive themselves can use the provided transportation. Tahlequah’s bus will leave campus at 4:30 p.m., and Broken Arrow’s bus will leave their campus at 5:30 p.m. Students who ride the bus will be provided Cicis pizza after their group is done shopping. Cicis will only be given to current students who ride the bus, but there is limited seating on the busses so not every student is ensured a ride on the bus.

“Student need to sign up as fast as they can because spots are limited,” said Kandra Medlin, administrative assistant.

Students can drive to the event on their own, but they will still need to resister online. Also, if the student is not coming with the bus, they must be at the event during the scheduled time to take advantage of the student discount. If people would like to pre-shop, it is possible. The student can come days before the event and pick out what clothes they want that will be in the sale and have them put back for the day of the event between the times listed.

If a student wants to attend the event, whether riding the bus or driving, the student must go to the Career Services home page. At the top of the page, there is a link to RSVP . After clicking there, the student should click the career events tab at the top of the page and scroll down to Suit Up-JCPenney. On the Suit Up-JCPenney page, students can register and select their mode of transportation.

The sale event is from 6:30-10 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10, at JCPenney in the Woodland Hills Mall, on 7021 S. Memorial Drive in Tulsa. Students must show up between those times for the discount to be available to them.
