Individuals who wish to pursue careers in student affairs make up the organization Aspiring Student Affairs Professionals. These students meet to organize ways to make connections and become better educated about the student affairs profession. The organization offers opportunities for students to grow and expand their horizons, like the NASPA Regional Conference.

“NASPA is an international organization for student affairs administrators in higher education,” said Jessica Langston, NSU scholarship coordinator. “The organization is divided into regions, and each year, our region presents a regional conference. There are a variety of sessions geared towards all levels of individuals, including undergraduate and graduate students, new professionals and senior level administrators. We have many guest speakers and present many different awards at various events throughout the conference.”

Through fundraising, ASAP allows students to travel to other universities to explore what they have to offer, attend seminars, and connect with student affairs personnel here at NSU to network and gain experience.

The current ASAP officers are graduating in May, so there are opportunities for new members to attain leadership roles in the organization. ASAP meets every other Wednesday in the university center room 223 at 12 p.m. ASAP’s next meeting is planned for September 19.
