Dr. Resume promotes students' success in finding a job

When applying for jobs, a resume may be the first impression an employer has of the applicant, especially if candidates are applying online. A poorly-formatted resume can distract employers from the content on it. NSU gives an opportunity for students to fix their resumes and ease their dream job search. Dr. Resume is an event that provides students with resume assistance and advice. Career counselors will be on site to give one-on-one direction to students with their resumes.

Sequoyah Institute sees move and leadership changes

A longtime benefit for NSU students and community members alike, the Sequoyah Institute has been providing world class performances for audiences of all ages since 1985. The SI brings in traveling artists and shows to present to audiences in an effort to provide more cultured opportunities for students and patrons who would normally not be able to experience said types of performances. Ranging from plays to Chinese acrobat shows, each season the SI aims to present four to six shows at the Center for the Performing Arts on Tahlequah’s NSU campus.

Cherokee National Holiday Art Show maintains traditions through artwork

In 1953, Cherokee National Holiday was established to commemorate the signing of the 1893 Cherokee Constitution. Cherokee National Holiday is one of the biggest events that happens in the state of Oklahoma. Indigenous people from around the country will soon gather in Tahlequah for the 65th Annual Cherokee National Holiday. In past years, Cherokee Nation has recorded more than 100,000 visitors.

NSU Greek Life prepares for fraternity recruitment

Fraternity recruitment is quickly approaching at NSU. Every fall semester, Interfraternity Council and the Office of Fraternity/Sorority Life plan a week of events geared toward recruiting interested men for the social fraternities on campus. This year, five Greek organizations will be participating in formal recruitment: Kappa Sigma, Phi Lambda Chi, Phi Sigma Kappa, Pi Kappa Alpha and Tau Kappa Epsilon.
