Cherokee National Holiday Art Show maintains traditions through artwork

In 1953, Cherokee National Holiday was established to commemorate the signing of the 1893 Cherokee Constitution. Cherokee National Holiday is one of the biggest events that happens in the state of Oklahoma. Indigenous people from around the country will soon gather in Tahlequah for the 65th Annual Cherokee National Holiday. In past years, Cherokee Nation has recorded more than 100,000 visitors.

NSU Greek Life prepares for fraternity recruitment

Fraternity recruitment is quickly approaching at NSU. Every fall semester, Interfraternity Council and the Office of Fraternity/Sorority Life plan a week of events geared toward recruiting interested men for the social fraternities on campus. This year, five Greek organizations will be participating in formal recruitment: Kappa Sigma, Phi Lambda Chi, Phi Sigma Kappa, Pi Kappa Alpha and Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Leadership and volunteer roles up for grabs on NSU Angel Tree Committee

Every year, during the months of November and December, thousands of people across the country can find a Christmas tree decorated with little pieces of paper, or “angels.” This project is known as the Angel Tree and has been a source of Christmas joy for children of low-income families from coast to coast for years.

NSU nutritional sciences offers nutrition counseling to students

The NSU nutritional sciences department has developed a nutrition counseling program to help students and faculty alike make positive changes in their dietary habits. The counseling helps students and faculty in their quest to lose weight and lead healthier lifestyles.
