NSU recognized as a tree-friendly campus

In 2017, NSU received a Tree Campus USA recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation for their commitment to be a tree-friendly campus. Since they were first recognized in 2010, NSU works every year to continue receiving this award.

NSU police officers awarded for their achievements

The NSU Police Department is spread over all three campus locations with a 24-hour schedule. It is rare for the campus police to have a get-together. Chief Patti Buhl decided to take the opportunity to celebrate the holiday season with dinner to thank the campus police officers and recognize their achievements.

NeoHealth continues collaboration with NSU

NSU is working to improve health services for the student body. NeoHealth made its debut in 2004 with their first clinic in Hulbert, OK. Since then, they have created various health clinics in Cherokee, Muskogee, Mayes and Adair county. One of NSU’s unrecognized benefits is the NeoHealth Medical Center on campus. NeoHealth has benefited students on the Tahlequah campus and is now available for students on the Muskogee campus.

College of Extended Learning recognized for outstanding service

The College of Extended Learning received an award recognizing the Healthcare Administration Certificate program. The CEL is a part of the Continuing Education department. It allows professionals to extend the knowledge they have acquired. The 2018 Outstanding Services to Underserved Populations award was presented to CEL by the Association for Continuing Higher Education.

Smith awarded PRSA Tulsa Chapter Chuck Schnake Memorial Scholarship

Tulsa, OK – Dae’lyn Smith of Mannford, Oklahoma has been awarded the Public Relations Society of America Tulsa Chapter Chuck Schnake Memorial Scholarship for the 2018-2019 spring semester. Smith will receive $1,000 for her senior year at Northeastern State University. Smith is a first generation college student and the daughter of Michelle Smith and Kenneth Ray Sanders Jr. and the granddaughter of Jim and Kathy Smith.
